Hunters Association (Korean: 헌터 협회, RR: heonteo hyeopwe) is the eighth episode of The S-Ranks That I Raised webtoon.
Han Yoojin registers as an Awakened person and goes to find a high-ranking guard for himself.
Summary[]
Yoohyun is suspicious at Yoojin's claim that he can find and recruit an A-rank bodyguard, and realizes that Yoojin must have Awakened with a skill that lets him find high-rankers. Yoojin, realizing that Yoohyun will keep him under lock and key if he realizes the power of his skills, claims it's just an F-rank skill with a weak effect. Yoohyun is satisfied, explaining that this skill will be made redundant anyway when the Awakening Centers open soon. Pleased at the compromise, Yoojin lets Yoohyun help him unpack his things and settle into Yoohyun's house.

Yoojin donning his new equipment
The next day, Yoojin sets out for the Hunter Association to register as an Awakened person. He spends most of the visit overshadowed by Kim Sunghan, who's escorting him. The people at the Association who notice Kim Sunghan assume Yoojin is a new S-rank, and are let down when he's revealed to be an F-rank, much to Yoojin's frustration. Once he's completed his registration, Yoojin slips away to the Hunter Mall and buys himself some subtle items to use as equipment, boosting his stats to C-rank. Afterwards, he also buys some contracts and potions before heading back. Kim Sunghan meets him at the car, frustrated that he slipped his guard, and begins driving him home, but Yoojin stops him and asks to visit one more location.

Bak Yerim, the Ice Witch
Yoojin's mind is set on finding Ice Witch Bak Yerim, a powerful A-rank mage. They visit Myeongdong Station, where she was supposed to have lived with a relative who ran a barbecue restaurant, but are unable to find her at multiple restaurants. Kim Sunghan is confused as to why Yoojin's brought them to the area, but Yoojin brushes him off, having noticed a young girl arguing with a family member at the door of another restaurant. He recognizes her as Bak Yerim when she runs past him, and chases after her with the use of his newly-bought equipment, calling out to her. She snaps back at him, evading his grasp, and he's beginning to argue when he notices a car rushing down the street she's running across. Yoojin throws himself forward, tackling Yerim out of the way of the car, and they land awkwardly on the other side of the road, with Yerim sprawled on top of Yoojin. As Yerim frantically asks if he's okay, as well as if he's a Hunter, Yoojin grumbles for her to get off him.[1]

Novel & webtoon differences[]
- Yoojin claims the skill that lets him check the potential Awakening rank of people is F-rank, while in the novel, he describes it as C-rank.[2]
- In the webtoon, the entire sequence with Yoojin registering as Awakened is skimmed over, not showing the individual interactions and process of registration as the novel does.[3] His shopping trip at the Hunter Mall is similarly summarized.[4] In both sections, minor characters are not named, unlike in the novel.
- Yoojin doesn't meet Yoo Myeongwoo outside the Association like he does in the novel.[5]
- Yoojin goes looking for Yerim the same evening as he registers as Awakened. In the novel, however, he went the next day, since his evening was taken up by meeting Myeongwoo[5] and Peace[6].
- In the webtoon, Yoojin's first conversation with Yerim involves tackling her out of the way of a car. In the novel, he simply followed her until she stopped running from her uncle, then pitched the Awakening offer to her to keep her attention.[7]
