Bak Yerim's Debut (Korean: 박예림 데뷔, RR: bak yerim debwi) is the fourteenth episode of The S-Ranks That I Raised webtoon.
Yerim makes her debut, while Yoojin finds a diamond in the rough.
Summary[]
Yoojin and Yoohyun look around the trashed training room as Yerim continues testing her skills, effortlessly decimating the room. Yoojin's shadow gets caught up in her use of Shadowless Day, leaving him drained and trembling, which makes Yoohyun panic and startles Yerim, who hadn't noticed they were there. She hurries over and is distraught when Yoojin doesn't immediately recognize her, due to her drastically rehauled appearance; they explain to Yoojin that Haeyeon's stylists redid her image so that she'd look fine when going to register at the Hunter Association later in the day.
Yoojin coaches Yerim on how to explain her skills
Yoojin compliments her sporty, Hermes-inspired appearance, and looks over her registration documents. She explains her skills to him, listing off Cold Sigh, Hermes' Sandals, and White Corpse in addition to Shadowless Day. Yoojin advises her on what skills she can downplay and what to omit altogether, and his expertise impresses Yerim, who latches onto his arm as she compliments him. Yoohyun pushes her away, claiming that Yoojin's expertise is due to watching out for Yoohyun; the two begin arguing as Yoojin looks on, resigned.
Yoojin chases down the high-rank skill holder
Later that day, Yerim enters the Hunter Association amidst a large crowd of reporters gathered to see the newest S-rank. Hiding some distance away, Yoojin quietly cheers Yerim on while Kim Sunghan stands guard behind him. Kim Sunghan asks why Yoojin didn't just accompany Yerim, and he answers that he has bad experiences with crowds, adding that Yerim won't really care about Yoojin not accompanying her- in fact, he believes Yerim won't care about Yoojin at all, after enough time passes. Kim Sunghan is silent, and Yoojin takes the time to muse over how much the future has changed already, before shaking off his anxiety and deciding to make use of his time by searching the people at the Association for high-ranks. Most individuals are low-rank, as per his expectations, but when he sees an unexpectedly high potential skill rank, Yoojin bolts out from his hiding spot to go grab the holder of the skill. The startled holder, Yoo Myeongwoo, looks back and asks Yoojin who he is, as Yoojin reads the Promising Sprout skill window, which declares he has an SS-rank skill.[1]

Novel & webtoon differences[]
- Unlike in the novel, Yoohyun is present when Yoojin goes over Yerim's skills with her. He's also the one to make the excuse that Yoojin's advanced knowledge is because of studying Awakened people due to having an Awakened brother, instead of Yoojin making the excuse.[2]
- Yoojin goes in person to the Hunter Association to watch Yerim register (with Kim Sunghan as his bodyguard), instead of watching on the TV from home.[3]
- Yoojin meets Yoo Myeongwoo after meeting and contracting with Yerim, instead of the other way around as in the novel. Though in both the novel and the webtoon, they meet at the Hunter Association, in the novel they meet after Yoojin's Awakened person registration,[4] while in the webtoon, they meet after Yerim's Awakened person registration.
