In Front Of Kids, You Can't Even Drink Cold Water (Korean: 애들 앞에서는 찬물도 못 마신다, RR: aedeul apeseoneun chanmuldo mot masinda) is the thirteenth episode of The S-Ranks That I Raised webtoon.
Yoojin and Yerim deal with the aftermath of her Awakening.
Summary[]
Bak Yerim's uncle, Bak Sungtae, runs up to Yoojin and Yerim and asks if she's really Awakened, excited because Awakened people make a lot of money. He's thrilled to hear that she's an S-rank, but becomes furious when Yerim tells him she's moving out and going under Yoojin's guardianship instead. When Bak Sungtae lashes out, Yoojin first cites special Hunter laws as supporting Yerim's decision, then provides an audio recording he made of the uncle assaulting Yoojin himself, warning that he'll secure the CCTV from the restaurant as evidence that Bak Sungtae is a bad guardian to Yerim. Yoojin continues shooting down his attempts to defend himself, until Bak Sungtae eventually threatens to sue him.
Yerim intimidates her uncle
Having been listening to them, Yerim cuts in between their argument quite literally by slamming her improvised weapon from earlier, an umbrella, into the ground between them. She proceeds to exaggeratedly scold her uncle for being violent, and when he tries to protest, she snaps the umbrella in half and crushes it while continuing to pin the blame for the argument on him. Bak Sungtae backs away, frightened at her suddenly intimidating aura, and Yoojin's Fear Resistance activates. As Yerim approaches her uncle, she coldly points out that he's done absolutely nothing for her and has been a terrible guardian all around, but that she'll let it slide because she doesn't consider him important enough to have to do anything about him. Having finished with her uncle, Yerim turns to Yoojin, proud at having followed his earlier example perfectly, and they head home.
The decimated training room
The next morning, Yoohyun bursts into Yoojin's room and demands he hand over the Black Poison Fog Spheres. Once he does so, Yoohyun hugs him, thanking him for being willing to sacrifice his own life to stop Yoohyun's enemies from exploiting him. Though thinking that he wasn't planning anything of the sort, Yoojin hugs him back, and awkwardly agrees when Yoohyun insists he'll save Yoojin, so he doesn't have to think about any such self-sacrificial plans. The brothers get ready and head down to the basement training rooms. On the way, Yoohyun tells Yoojin about how Seok Simyeong visited Bak Sungtae and stopped him from contacting Yerim ever again, using his previous exploitation of her as leverage. They exit the elevator and head to the training room designed for S-rank use where Yerim was adjusting to her stats overnight, only to find it completely destroyed and covered in frost.[1]

Novel & webtoon differences[]
- Instead of Yoojin and Yerim going to confront Bak Sungtae at his house, as in the novel,[2] they instead confront each other in the aftermath of the dungeon break at Myeongdong.
- Yerim mimics Yoojin's intimidation of Bak Sungtae from back at the restaurant,[3] rather than at his house.
- Yoojin uses the recording of Bak Sungtae's assault from the restaurant to threaten him to back off, instead of a recording of him cursing and attacking Yoojin in conversation at his house. He also threatens to pull CCTV, which he couldn't do in the novel.
- Seok Simyeong, accompanied by Kim Sunghan, is the one to confront Bak Sungtae at his house and have him sign a contract to stop him from contacting Yerim.
- In the webtoon, Yoohyun confronts Yoojin about the Black Poison Fog Spheres the morning after he went to the Hunter Mall and bought them, instead of in the evening right after he returned.[4]
